A direct Garza discharge takes place in Post, not at the Kent sheriff office in Jayton and not at the Old Kent County Jail in Clairemont. The Clairemont jail dates to 1894 and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. It is not an active jail, release counter, or place to verify a current booking. This local history matters because search pages can blur the old building with present custody.
Before traveling to Post, ask whether the release order arrived, whether all holds cleared, whether processing is complete, where pickup is permitted, and whether the estimate can change. No reviewed source states Garza's routine release hours, exit door, family waiting area, property procedure, or transportation service. General rural transit coverage does not establish a jail pickup service.
Garza Release Transfers Explained
When Garza records a transfer to TDCJ, use the TDCJ locator while the person is currently confined in a state facility. The search is updated on working days and is at least 24 hours old. It is not a historical released-person database. A projected release date is prospective.
